Did you know that you can find Disney Minnie and Mickey Mouse Ears outside of the parks? You might have seen Disney ears sold at Disney Stores and on ShopDisney, but we’ve found mouse ears at other stores that might surprise you – and most of them were $10 or less!
Here are our top three places for finding fun mouse ears for under $10, and a few other places that you can often find even more unique Disney ears for $20 or less!
You can often find fun Mickey and Minnie ears at Walmart in the party section. Though these are generally made for kids, they are usually flexible enough to fit adults as well (we would suggest trying them on before you buy them to make sure they are comfortable since you might want to wear them all day in the parks).
We’ve seen several different styles come and go in this section of the store, including standard black headband-style Mickey ears and Minnie ears, sequin Minnie ears with a variety of colored sequin bows, puffy ears, and thin ears. All of the mouse ears we found here had Disney tags, so they were all official Disney ears. We have also found light-up plastic Minnie Bows in the party section as well.
More recently we also found thin, fancier Minnie Mouse Ears and Mickey Mouse ear hats made out of soft fabric (these are usually very small kid sizes) in the Accessories section of Walmart. Depending on the style, Walmart’s ears tend to be less than $10 with some as low as $3.
Tip: If you’re looking for Disney hats, Walmart sometimes has Disney baseball caps and beanies for good prices in their accessory section as well.
Like Walmart, the party section at Target often has headband-style mouse ears. While there doesn’t seem to be as much variety offered in this section at Target as there is at Walmart, Target’s party mouse ears are usually are around $6. They often have Disney branded Mickey and Minnie ears as well, so be on the lookout for those in particular (like Walmart’s ears, most of these are kid’s sizes, so we suggest trying them on first before you buy them to make sure they fit).
A more recent addition in Target stores are the fancier Minnie ears that can often be found in the kid’s section. These ears are more along the lines of Walmart’s puffy, sequin ears, but they tend to be a bit higher in price (usually around $10-$15 from what we’ve seen). We have seen quite a few styles and colors show up in the girl’s clothing and accessories department at Target, though there are usually only one or two styles at a time.
Tip: Target sometimes has Disney baseball caps and hats in the kid’s section and men’s section as well, so be on the lookout for those!
Stores like Party City often sell mouse ears year round in the costume and party aisles. Some of these are Disney branded Mickey and Minnie ears (look for the official Disney tag), but you might also find a lot of non-Disney mouse ears with similar quality. Sometimes these non-Disney ears are offered in adult sizes and different styles for even cheaper prices, so it’s worth checking these out as well (we usually find adult sizes in the costume aisles, while kid’s sizes tend to be most common in the party aisles).
While every party store may have different styles and different prices, the mouse ears at Party City are usually between $3 and $10 depending on the style. We have seen simple headband-style black ears, sequin ears, light-up ears, ears with fascinators, and even clip on ears offered at various times throughout the year.
Something you may find at party stores that you generally won’t find at stores like Walmart and Target are different size ears. We have found fun large mouse ears for $9.99 at Party City before, which would be easy to add a bow or other decorations to change the look.
Tip: It’s a good idea to check often for sales at these types of stores, especially during non-holiday months and after Halloween, because you might find these same ears at discounted prices!
Other Stores That Sell Disney Ears
Other stores that you may find different mouse ears at include Claire’s, H&M, Kohl’s, JCPenny, and Michael’s. These ears all vary in quality and style, and they are often Disney brand. You’ll typically find a little bit higher quality ears at stores like Claire’s, H&M, Kohl’s, and JCPenny rather than the kind you will often find at stores like Michael’s, which tend to be simple, thin party ears.
Ears at these stores can also vary in price, but they tend to be between $5–$20 depending on the store and style. Not every store on this list will offer these ears consistently all year as Walmart, Target, and Party City usually do, but they do pop up occasionally – especially now that Disney has begun to expand their park-style merchandise like ears and backpacks to non-Disney stores across the country.
Bonus: Pop-Up Holiday Sections
If you’re looking for mouse ears anytime around Halloween or Christmas, then you will want to check the holiday sections of stores like Walmart and Target. You will most likely find both Disney and non-Disney mouse ears in costume aisles during the month of October (maybe even before) and in the novelty or decor aisles during November and December. We’ve even seen some unique mouse ear items in Walmart’s Christmas aisles before, including Minnie headband ears with holiday bows and Mickey Santa hats.
As always, it’s a great idea to check these aisles after the holidays too because you might find some fantastic discounts. Be sure to check party stores around Halloween time too as they will often expand their variety of ears to include styles that they don’t carry in-store year round.
