It looks like we will have to wait just a little while longer to walk through the park gates again because Disneyland’s reopening has been delayed.
Yesterday, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products released an update about the reopening of Disneyland Resort. Disneyland and Disney California Adventure were both expected to reopen on July 17, 2020, but now both have been delayed. According to Disney’s newest statement, this is due to the State of California waiting to issue “theme park reopening guidelines until sometime after July 4”. Because of this, Disney has decided to delay reopening the parks until a later date. Unfortunately, this means that Disneyland will no longer be reopening on its 65th Anniversary as originally planned.
You can read the full Disney Parks, Experiences and Products statement on their website for more details about this delay. At this time, Downtown Disney is still expected to reopen on July 9, 2020. Disney’s announcement indicates that this reopening was already approved, so it will move forward as scheduled.
