Happy Birthday Hollywood Studios! Our favorite Walt Disney World park celebrates its 31st Anniversary today!
Hollywood Studios opened May 1, 1989 as Disney’s MGM Studios. In 2008, the park’s name was changed to Hollywood Studios and continued to welcome new rides, shows, and areas based on favorite film franchises like Toy Story, Cars, and Star Wars throughout the years.
Hollywood Studios features nine main areas, which are Hollywood Boulevard, Sunset Boulevard, Animation Courtyard, Echo Lake, Commissary Lane, Pixar Place, Grand Avenue, Toy Story Land, and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Four of Disney World’s most popular rides are located in this park, including Tower of Terror, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, and the brand new Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.
