As of today, March 27, both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort in California have announced that they will remain closed until further notice. This comes just hours after Tokyo Disneyland announced that they would be extending their closure until “April 20 or beyond” and announced the closure of all their hotels on April 1.
Currently, all Disney parks around the world are closed out of precaution for health and safety due to the coronavirus pandemic. While Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort in California were both originally set to reopen on April 1, 2020, their closures have since been extended indefinitely out of extreme caution as the situation surrounding COVID-19 on both a national and global level continues to develop.
Last week, Disney also announced the cancellation of the runDisney Star Wars Rival Run Weekend originally scheduled for April 16–19, 2020.
You can read more about the other parks around the world and their expected reopening dates in our original article about the Disney park closures.
We will continue to watch closely for any announcements from the Walt Disney Company regarding the reopening of the parks and will update our website when any new information is released.
